Use of functional real-world tasks in therapy helps generalize skills learned to everyday situations. Functional therapy is based on a patient-centered approach and it is important to consider your clients’ day-to-day responsibilities. To improve functionality and promote independence, modify materials based on individual needs and use real materials/scenarios when possible.
